John Henry Doyle and Ann Eliza Garrison were my great-grandparents… On Lula Etta Doyle's birth record in 1971, her mother is listed as Annie Liza Garrison. So, I have seen multiple ways her name was listed. Could have been the illiteracy of her husband and family so people spelled the way they heard it. and my Ann did spend the last 32 years in a mental institution and died there. No one really knows the reason why she was admitted but it may have been the death of her two youngest sons, Charles Edward Doyle, born 1909 and died in 1910 and John Wesley Doyle, born 1911 and died 1911.

I do not know the reasons for the death of the two boys. I wouldn't have even known they existed if my grandmother, Lula Etta Doyle, had not written their names in her bible. Another reason Ann may have entered the mental ward is because men were very abusive to wives back then. My Dad said once John Henry hit her in the head with a board. I don't know about that as we have no facts. The other reason might be simple depression as that seems to run rampant in our family. Lula Etta Doyle actually developed Schizophrenia in the last 20 years of her life. If she didn't take her medicine she would be come quite disoriented. I saw that first hand.
