A son of Gustavus and Ann Peyton Limbrick, Charles Peyton William Limbrick, stated (per the 1866 newspaper account) that Gustavus 1797 Limbrick and his wife, Ann Nancy Peyton, were both brutally murdered in 1866 (3 Aug 1866) by John T Roberson, son of John Roberson and Maria LeBrun Rogers. A vivid step-by-step account of the trial and hanging of John T Roberson can be found in the Fredericksburg Ledger of 28 September 1866, 10 November 1866, and 1 Jan 1867
