I believe the Confederate Pension application filed by Jane in 1890, stating that her husband, William A J Jett, had died in 1862 in a Petersburg Hospital, was false. She says she was widowed in the 1880 census which is probably true. William does not appear in census with his family in 1870 and 1880 but they show that William and Jane were still having children until 1872 (Mary)
