Charles Anderson Garrison, 74, of Charlottesville died peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2009, at home.

He was born July 2, 1934, a son of the late Lawrence W. Garrison and Lucille P. Rankin. He was lovingly raised by his grandmother, Mallie D. Garrison, who preceded him in death.

A graduate of Miller School of Albemarle, Charles was an active member of First Baptist Church, and a retired Jostens sales rep with the yearbook division for 25 years. Some of his community activities included the Jaycees, Past President of the Dogwood Festival, and football official for the Virginia High School League for 27 years.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Irma Marshall Garrison; sons, Charles G. Garrison and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Kellogg, of Keswick, Virginia, Thomas W. Garrison of Charlottesville and Christopher A. Garrison and his wife, Nicole, of Afton, Virginia; three grandchildren, twins, Ava and Marshall Garrison of Afton and Angela Garrison of Cape Charles, Virginia; also Angela's mother, Anne Giannini of Cape Charles, Virginia; a stepbrother, Larry Garrison of Waynesboro; a very special cousin/brother, John Grady and his wife, Debbie, of North Garden; and other friends and relatives.
