He was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, on December 7, 1960. He is survived by his loving wife, Marie Garrison. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred L Garrison.He is survived by his mother, Mary Catherine Garrison; his daughter, Christina Adams and her husband, Kyle Adams; daughter, Tabitha Shifflett and her husband, Montie Shifflett Jr.; a son, Gary Conley Jr. "G.W."; his grandchildren, Christian Adams, Danielle Shifflett and her fiancé, Dustin Heflin, Kelsey Shifflett, and Jada Conley; mother-in-law, Francis Maupin; and uncle and aunt, Billy and Charlotte Benson.
