A private dispatch has been received here (Montgomery, AL), from Virginia, announcing the sad intelligence of the death of Mr. Robert Kirk, which occurred at Farmville (Prince Edward County) in that State, a night or two ago. The circumstances, as reported, leave no doubt that Mr Kirk, in a fit of temporary aberration from some private sorrow, took his own life with a pistol shot.

He was quite a young man, and a son of Mr. Eben. Kirk, formerly engaged in the banking business in this city (Montgomery), and a grandson of Mr. Moses Garrison. His sad death is profoundly regretted by all who knew him. Mr. Kirk was in Montgomvery but a few days ago, and left here for Virginia.
