Per HO:

Moses shows up in the Personal Property tax lists through 1857, then disappears — no reference to an estate. We can surmise he died around the same time as James given this drop-off, and that he doesn’t appear in the 1860 census (that we can find). He does transfer his land though, to John Rowzee Garrison, around 1855, the last time he shows up in the land tax records. The next year, 1856, shows John Rowzee with that land, having been transferred from Moses.

My connection through James N (M is correct) Garrison would be through his son Alexander Floyd Garrison and Nancy Ellen Browning as far as kinship. However, the Garrison Family of Stafford Co, Virginia goes back further than that. The Garrison Family and the Sanford Family of Stafford Co., Virginia were also great friends of each other. If I recall they were neighbors for many, many generations. My 3 x great grandparents Joseph Sanford 1805 and Agnes J Crawford of Stafford Co, Virginia. Moses W Garrison and Lawrence Sanford 1778 of Stafford Co, were also good friends. These are just a few things I can remember off the top of my head. I would have to pull our Family Bible to get more into detail. Thanks Merri
